Wait, what? I don't know anyone who gets perms. I think my mom and her friends had them when I was in 5th grade or so.

Details please. What is a straight perm and where do you go for this treatment?

OP here. It's a 2-3 hour process where you get silky straight hair at the end. i'm from ny and a lot of jewish girls also get this done.

I'm another frizzy haired woman. Just yesterday I got something called a "Brazilian Blowout." It took about 4 hours total, but some of that included getting my hair colored (highlights) and a light trim. Just thought I'd give you another option to look into. Yesterday was my first time getting it, but so far I love it.

I have taken my 3.5 month baby to two haircuts. I asked my stylist, while pregnant, if I could bring her and was told yes. Can you ask your stylist?

I know some crunchy moms who place importance on attachment and breastfeeding above most everything. It's odd that she doesn't think about the fumes. But not surprising.

I'd be less concerned about highlights than a perm (less dripping chemical potential), but still wouldn't do it.
Guarantee your stylist has seen a lot of client loss to new moms who don't have the time/money/energy/give-a-damns to keep up with their hair routine.
