I empathize with OP. Some years ago, my boss was having an affair with someone who reported to him. There were rumors about this but he confided this to me most likely because he knew that I would not tell anyone. Thereafter, he'd share details including the status of the relationship and other goings on while he was involved with her. I think she also knew that I was aware of the relationship.

It only became awkward because we used to occasionally socialize with my boss and his wife who happened to be a lovely person. I found it difficult at times to interact with her given what I knew was going on but kept my mouth shut. FWIW, he is still with his wife and the woman he was having the affair with moved on to other things but it was a relationship that went on for almost three years.

I would just distance myself from him. He's a messy drunk on top of other things and that's bound to cause trouble sooner rather than later. I'd slowly work them into becoming the friends we wave at in passing.
