I have a good sense of smell, and my clean, deodorant-free kids don't stink. If they did, I'd suggest they use an unscented deodorant. the smells in scented deodorants give me a headache. And many kids with allergies react to products like Axe, so I don't think it's nice for people to wear it to school, use it in the locker rooms etc.

Beware Old Spice Pure Sport. My DH gave himself severe chemical burns with it, I think because he put it on while still wet from the shower..

I understand not using anti-perspirants, but what's the issue with plain old deodorant?

DS and DH use Old Spice.

If there is ever a time to use chemicals its now. Please. God Please.

degree. I'm a bigger fan of antiperspirants over deodorants.

My ds used Every Man Jack, and it worked well until 14. Now he stinks if he doesn't use one with an antiperspirant. (He does sports every day)

We tried Tom's--did not work at all. I let my DS choose his own deodorant (not anti-perspirant). he sniffed around and choose one of the old spice varieties.

Schmidts. It is the only one that works, in my opinion -- I suggest you give it a try before abandoning the idea of natural deodorant. My husband uses it too. OP, please ignore the other comments -- it is totally normal for your tween/teen boy to stink, esp if they play sports! Good luck.

Primal pit works for my DH who was once a stinky teenage boy.

We switched a few years ago and haven't looked back.

I may smell like an adolescent boy, but at least I don't smell like BO.

Has anyone tried FResh Kidz or Primal Pit Paste. This is for an 8 y/o

I think the generations have switched it up and now the younger kids like Old Spice and the millennials are using Axe.

What kind of parent doesn't let their teenager use deodorant? Were you planning on ruining his social life until he's old enough to buy his own hygiene products?
