We didn't because of the extra cost and we're introverts and kind of didn't want someone around and helping us out all the time. But others definitely raved about that option. You get use of an extra private pool too. But we had a perfectly great time without that splurge. (And I should note that I'm very picky about hotels and vacations!)

All inclusives are great when you want to go kick back and not make any plans, leave the property for dinners,etc. It's nice with kids because you can have a few hours of free time during the day if you want and they usually have kid events around dinner so you and your mate can have a nice dinner. Personally, I think they are great but now that the kids are older we don't do AIs anymore, we do more adventurous trips. You might be able to pull it off for $5K- kids are free at many places.
