I am 5'10'', I am pretty sure his profile said 5'10'' when I looked the first several times. It currently says 5'6''. There was a photo of him several inches shorter than friends, and I am pretty sure I triple checked before responding. Lots of guys are taller than me, so when I thought read 5'10'' again, I thought his friends were taller than me.

I am dating guys I am not initially attracted to based on looks, but looking for someone I would connect with, because I have learned that it's not all about the looks. But don't really know if I connect with people until I meet them.

16:57 -- There are lots of guys that say they are 5'10'' or taller. I've gone on some dates with guys taller than me. But there were other issues. I like OK Cupid, because it asks for a lot of information that other apps don't ask for.

I wouldn't tell him he's too short for you. It's hurtful and he can't change it.

What does that statement even mean? If her deal breakers keep her single, she's an idiot. Otherwise she has a plan that works.

I am a 5.11 female and being taller than me is a must for any man I would want to date. I would not ghost but tell him I am no longer interested.

Btw OP how are the pickings based on height online?

Break the date, but don't use his height as the reason. Tell him something like work or other commitments are taking over and you realize you just don't have time for a relationship right now.

5'7 - 5'8 guy here - it's better to tell him. Though he's in the wrong if he misrepresented. Being told I'm too short doesn't bother me because I can't change that. Better to tell me straight up so both can move on.

This is why I don't really date online. Most of the women I've dated have been my height or taller - but we met in person. Women are way harsher judges online

This is my DH! He swears he had always listed his height as 5'10" but I sincerely remember seeing 6' there. It's not a dealbreaker for me, just a funny thing that he may have tweaked. We will never know! He is a scrupulously honest person but I have a wicked good memory. Screenshots for every stage of dating on an online dating site?

It is possible I missed it. But it is also possible that detail was changed before and after he messaged me the first time and we started chatting.

Stop judging a man on his height would be a good start. It's one thing to have a preference and some things should be absolutes but I feel that within the framework that you mention this shouldn't be one of them.

FWIW I am above the average height but my father was shorter than my mother and it never bothered them.

I don't know. The shorter guy could have all the better qualities. I'd probably meet if everything else sounds good unless you're sure he lied. I'd also run his name on the internet to see what comes up.
