I'm sure rude Aunt Larla was the subject of many after seder discussions that night! She was likely annoyed that there was a gentile in attendance and wanted to make you uncomfortable. Try not to give it another thought.

Of course it would make sense that the Eucharist is like the flat bread (motzoh) b/c Jesus and his apostles were celebrating Passover at His Last Supper!

Yeah, she was whacky and over the top. The Eucharist is made of unlevened bread *because* the last supper was actually a passover/seder meal.
So yeah, the communion bread and matzah typically are similar (as someone above said, bland is bland!
You weren't talking about the theology of what you were eating, but the physical bread you were eating.
We all have that one aunt/uncle who is whacky and says things we wish they wouldn't to visitors.

Something to keep in mind - the "last supper" - was a Seder.

Well, but *she was asked* what she had had that was similar to matzoh. She answered. And, in fact, the bread used during Catholic mass is unleavened bread that resembles matzoh because the Eucharist is a re-enactment of a Seder meal. It would be one thing if OP had compared Seder and the Eucharist theologically or whatever, but she was talking about taste and texture, in response to a question about taste and texture. Nothing rude about it.

What you touched on is a very raw nerve for some although you had no idea. Comparing the Seder to the Eucharist is offensive to some Jews I know. (I'm a Christian married to a Jew.) as I said, you didn't know and your intent was not to offend. Her need to educate you is about her, though and ungracious.
