No no no. If your kid stays in a trailer for tornado or fire drills, this is one thing I'd raise holy hell over. Totally unacceptable. Those trailers can absolutely be blown around in high winds and are certainly not as fire safe as a brick building. This is not a joke and should be taken very seriously. This was an admin failure and gross breach of safety protocol.

Anonymous wrote:I was at my kids' school in the main office by coindence when it occured (FCPS elementary). The kids were told to get down and cover their heads while the warning was going on. The kids who were in trailers were brought into the main building immediately. The entire staff was awesome. Completely cool and calm, and this was in Western Fairfax where there was a lot of rain, hail, and downed trees. Some of the younger kids were pretty upset and the teachers did an excellent job reassuring them.

My child's elementary school moved all kids and adults into the hallway and into the gymnasium.
