It is very difficult to find such a situation that will enable you to transfer credits to your home school.

You can't go wrong, just pick somewhere that interests you and where you can take classes that will help you graduate on time. I've studied abroad or worked in China, Argentina and Chile. I loved each experience. I found there to be more separation between foreign and native students in China but that it was so much easier to make local friends and somewhat integrate into the culture in Latin America.
