Just to add to this, no one is going to hire anyone (non SME) for a position that requires a clearance on day 1 based on clearable. Why? The process is broking/it will take at least a year, and possible more than two years to get cleared.

With clearance v.s no clearance makes a BIG difference in our area.
It doesn't necessarily means it pays more, but it does open up wider opportunities and such you are in a better position to negotiate the salary. I tried to pass a job that pays around 130/hr on 1099 to my friend, but he doesn't even have a secret clearance, so he's stuck with his $140k job.

IT sales operations management. Can hardly operate my PC, but know how to run a tight ship. 240k/yr and lots of job mobility.
