If thats a viable option, i would totally consider it.
What letter does your last name start with?
Barbara pronounced Varvara or just "Varvara"?
Last name starts with H.
And I dont know if it should pronounce Varvara or BE Varvara. Hoping i can ask enough people to get some clarity in deciding.....

Anonymous wrote:OP what's your maiden name start with? You could do a nickname from the initials, like BT would be great for a Bitsy. Or BB, Betty from BT, Birdie from BD.
Anonymous wrote:OP here- my Maiden name starts with C. So the initials would be BC ( first, middle).
Babs is not an option here people!!![]()
I do like Bea or BB.

I am currently 8 months pregnant and trying to make a final decision on a name for my little baby girl. I would like to name her after my mother - Barbara- who has passed away. It is also very traditional in my family's Greek culture to name your children after the grandparents. So, it would be traditional and also in memory of my mom.
I know the name is not really in the top lists at the moment and sounds old fashioned ( most Barbaras I know are around 60+) but what do you think?
WHat about any cute nicknames? Not BABS!!! In the Greek the name is pronounced Varvara and doesnt have the old-timey connotations.
I want her to have my maiden name as a middle name, so Barbara cant be a middle name
Is Barbara back for a revival or should I reassess??
Thanks for your opinions.
