Law firms care about where you went to law school until the day you die or retire. It matters for people's careers. It matters for who we hire as junior lawyers. It's not mere vanity.

And they're tied with George Mason(aka ASSLAW). I wonder why they dropped so many slots?

other regional law schools such as alabama and ut-austin have their home turf to themselves. they are top dogs in their backyard.
not so for gulc/gw.
i think that plus their large class sizes are going to see their rankings fall in the future
Yup. GU particularly has a very large class; I believe largest in the nation. And given GU's financial situation, they really can't afford to shrink the class size to maintain the same caliber of student. These days you don't have to sink that low in the class from GU to have trouble getting a Biglaw job in a major market, although you certainly don't have to be the very top of the class either.

Anonymous wrote:This ranking is a joke for putting Wake Forest ahead of UNC and putting Mason in a tie with W&M. Any Virginia resident who takes Mason over W&M or North Carolina resident who take sWake over UNC is foolish.
