+1000. Went to a lowly state school 25-plus years ago and have been in big law my entire career. Folks get their panties in a bunch over some pretty silly things, and this is high on the list.

I work in higher ed, and these rankings are accurate. They were released under embargo on March 7, with strict instructions not to publicly announce until March 14 at 12:01 p.m.

Yup. GU particularly has a very large class; I believe largest in the nation. And given GU's financial situation, they really can't afford to shrink the class size to maintain the same caliber of student. These days you don't have to sink that low in the class from GU to have trouble getting a Biglaw job in a major market, although you certainly don't have to be the very top of the class either.

AU grad here and gainfully employed.

One of the myriad of reasons AU law dropped so much these few years is because they've been trying to expand enrollment (lowering the bar) to pay for their gazillion dollar campus in Tenleytown next to the metro. On top of that, them putting so much focus and money in areas of law (international human rights) that doesn't have much job prospects doesn't help their job statistics, which directly affect their rankings.

What they should have really done is to not build the campus and use that money to fund programs that actually result in jobs/networks and rent out vacant office spaces (see e.g. Deweys vacant office) in the middle of town as actual lecture/classrooms. That way it woulld have pleasantly raised more internship employer eyebrows as well as the attention of adjunct faculty candidates. Oh well...

au law is a joke - i worked with au grads working as house member front office interns!

not even committee interns but back-bench house personal staff interns!

AU as a school is a joke. it would make more sense to sell the school off and build affordable multi-family housing units in the area.
