I just watched an episode where Jill said any one of them can go to college but she was passionate about becoming a certified midwife, which she is.

Midwifery is an option, but nothing certified, only training to be a lay midwife. Joseph went to two semesters at Crown College, which is unaccredited. Conservative Christian colleges are accredited institutes of higher learning. Those are not compatible with Gothard beliefs. For the Duggar girls, no, college is not an option.

It also makes me sad that (yes, I read a recap of the episode) when the guy was asking the dad to 'court', he said 'I've been noticing her over the years, she's such a hard worker, she's beautiful, etc.' okay, cool. I just hope the DAUGHTER is also interested in the guy coming to court rather than the dad selling off his girls to whoever shows interest.

Very sad. She is my son's age. She should be making plans for her education and young adult life, not being handed from one man to another. She will be making babies for the next 20+ years.

There have been rumors online that Josiah is gay for YEARS.

Wasn't Josiah courting a young woman a while back? Even if he's gay, I doubt that would stop him from marrying a woman.
