The bad part of all of this is that Trump tweeted about a TV appearance while the raid was in process. And then deleted it later.. The CIC was not in the situation room for the first military action of his administration, but rather in the residence (so not doing other important POTUS stuff). At 6:00 pm. Let that sink in.

No. The dad is suggesting it should never have happened the day after the so-called President instituted a Muslim ban.

Yes, that is wrong information. The Obama Administration never approved this mission. Trump has American blood on his hands.


I don't get it. This move was developed under the Obama administration. Trump signed off, but it was indeed developed prior to Trump taking office.

Maybe - had Obama been in office - the final sign off would not have occurred. But at this point, I can't see how American blood is only on Trump's hands. I feel for anyone who's lost a child to war. So I'm not fully supporting O or T. But what's fair is fair.

Any death is tragic and horrible, but this was a service member rather than a diplomatic security or CIA officer who was killed. When you take the military oath, you take a different level of risk.


Not true. Others have demanded investigations. The military oath does not mean that your death is meaningless.

But I agree with the PP that said assigning blame at this juncture is misguided. Let's focus on never losing American lives in these efforts. That also means that the POTUS needs to have a staff that doesn't consider our troops to be cubes on a Risk board.

Let's not argue about whether it was Obama's "thing" or Trump's "thing". Let's get the answers that the dad wants. My God. He lost his son in service of our country. The least we can do is give him answers. If we don't do this, we dismiss the service that these young people are giving our country.

We would want the same for our children. I can't even imagine this and my heart goes out to this father. Let us show compassion to him. Let us show our best and give our best to him.
