And for the PP who said our ped sucks, I disagree. She has always been wonderful. And when was the last time you had an X-ray and the tech told you what it said? They always tell you the dr will call you.
Absolutely disagree.
1.Your ped is offering a non-FDA approved med that has been in the news as doing much more harm than good. She also did this before finding out if it was even constipation
2. x-ray techs can show you the film immediately, I have never been to one that doesn't. You can clearly see constipation in an abdominal x-ray
3. Your ped still has not called you back. How long is normal for an easy x-ray picture
Your child could have the stomach flu and now you have made it worse with Miralax. It honestly sounds like Norovirus to me. That is going around everywhere. Severe stomach cramping, some vomiting, lots of diarrhea, mild fever, cold sweats. The stomach pains stick around for days.

For the other PP who said Miralax gave her kid the runs, same here.
Umpqua Oatmeal, high fiber granola, smoothies, fruit, pumpkin seeds, meat, eggs, almond butter packets. If she eats bread or pasta I make sure it's a very high fiber version and I limit it. Very little cheese, if any. There is an organic Garden of Life probiotic with fiber at Moms and Whole Foods that seems to help.

Miralax was helpful for my son, but a nightmare for my daughter. One dose and she had no control of her bowels for days. It really does vary kid by kid.

I suppose the Miralax could have exacerbated her illness, but it sounds coincidental to me. Something is irritating her system, and now the irritation is worse or she has a stomach bug. She's vomiting because she's full of poop.
NP and I have to agree with the above. Please follow up soon with the Xray and I wouldn't be surprised if she is backed up (FOS). The vomiting and the stomach cramping when eating seem like signs of a possible blockage. You can see the GI clinic at Childrens' for follow up treatment if needed.

Sounds like your ped sucks. And for the x-ray, any tech can look and see if there is constipation as soon as the pic is taken.
For now, avoid dairy, gluten and processed foods. Do a mild bland diet. Think chicken, rice, apples, oatmeal, pasta, etc..

Miralax is a big no no for kids. It is not FDA approved for ages under 16. A lot of bad reports coming out.

I would discontinue the miralax. A few studies came out recently saying it does more harm than good

When I was six I had stomaches all the time. My mom and the ped thougth I had school phobia.
Turned out I actually had two ureters on one side, one worked fine but the extra one drained from the kidney but was blocked at the bladder so urine would reduct back into the kidney, causing pain.
After surgery to correct this I was fine.
Not sure how anyone figured that out though.

Disturbing article. My pediatrician told me to give my daughter Miralax but instead we watch her diet closely and she is fine. She has a lot of fiber and liquids and probiotics really seem to help. Also avoid constipating foods like cheese and bananas. OP I think you could do an enema to clear her out then do what we do with the diet. OP, could she be dehydrated?
