I get that you all chafe at the idea of someone who isn't going to stay at a school taking a spot, but OP needs to do what is best for her kid. That said, commute is an important factor to consider.

She has AT at the very end as a safety, as do many people. You are telling her to move it up because you don't want her to compete for a spot at a more desirable school. As the other PP said, the other schools offer many advantages, such as outdoor space, which is pretty important for ECE.

No. I don't care where she goes or for how long. It's totally her perogative. I was saying it would suck to make a long commute for a short term school whentherr is a widely acceptable one walking distance.

Ok, not you, but the PP who told her to pay for private did. Lots of self-interested advice as soon as someone says they won't stay beyond PK.

Then pay for preschool or stay with a nanny. It's optional, it's school, not free babysitting.
