The Vermont Country Store catalog has a huge assortment of old people candy-and it's mostly delicious.

This brings back memories. My great grandparents loved circus peanuts. Another great grandmother loved peanut brittle. My grandfather always kept lemon drops and butterscotch candies in the pantry. Thanks for making me smile.

Lol! This cracks me up! When I was little (32 here) my,dad used to take me to his friend's house...he was a barber and while I waited for him the wife would offer me candy. Butterscotch, those strawberry candies in that strawberry looking wrapper and Carmel with the white center in the middle...those were my favorites!

Werther's (sooo good though)
Tic tacs

My mom, aged 69, gets the Christmas candy, and I have no idea of its source. It is hard candy, has various patterns, like red stripes, some thick, some thin. Some full red, some full green, some transparent and some not. Anyone help me with this?

Also Strawberry and pineapple hard candies. Soft center. The wrappers look like strawberries or pineapples, respectively.

I associate these with Philadelphians, not old people. And, honestly, an old person who might lose a tooth eating one because they are so chewy.

Werther's commercials even play into that. It's usually a grandfather giving them to his grandson or something similar.
