That would make sense.....I think it depends on the social situation. Just because you come in with someone of the opposite sex doesn't mean you are dating that person, so I would think using boyfriend/girlfriend would work just as well.

She calls me Master, and I call her slave. But we are a little bit different.

I say "I would like you to meet a VERY good friend of mine." Those words with the right tone send a very clear message to all parties.
