I've always thought that if you can get a grassroots effort of 2-3 million advocates who believe in reasonable gun control to join the NRA (5 million dues paying members) combined with (assuming half of the current membership) 2.5 existing reasonable members that are probably supportive of at least some gun control efforts then you have the majority membership. Of course, doing something about contributions by the gun industry is another story but then you go after Sen/Reps who take their money.

I love a well meaning, mission driven non profit and foundation but there are too damn many of them, lots of well meaning money and efforts in too many directions. I thought Moms Demand Action was a great idea but with membership of just over 100K, I'm not sure how effective they will ever be.

Someone - maybe the swimgleft people - should organize all frustrated DC voters to target one single vulnerable R per cycle. Flood his opponent with donations. Call his offices constantly. Publicize every bad vote. If DC people spread out their very minimal influence, it's too easy to ignore us. If we concentrate our influence, we might create results.

Here's what you can do. Get involved in an Indivisible Group in a red state - especially one in a blue city.

Feed them info. Support them...tell them what you know from being a DC-ite. you probably know how the Hill works better than they do.
