80 is remarkably old for someone who has lived with Type 1 diabetes most of her life.
Does anyone know how long todays kids with Type 1 are predicted to live? I have a nephew with Type 1 and I hate to think of his life being cut short!

Seriously. Ugh. All our icons are going. I remember in my mid-twenties moving into a studio apartment on my own in San Francisco. I felt like I was having my own "Mary Tyler Moore" moment, where she's so happy she throws her hat in the air. It's such a shorthand for being happy with your independence.
All our icons are going because they're OLD, and we're almost-old. Seriously, RIP Mar', but 80 years is a good long life.
