My argument why I think it's abuse because the dog was clearly TERRIFIED. Would they shove a human, a child into that? I think it's so different than giving your dog a bath because a bath is safe. This water did not look safe- no matter how many resucuers they had waiting--- and if you need resucuers, then right there that's not safe--- and he looked like he was drowning at the end. The way he was clinging to the wall trying not to get in broke my heart


It's horrible but many Hollywood directors would shove a human child into that...and many parents of kids trying to make it in Hollywood would be okay with it.

My German Shepherd fusses that much about getting in the bathtub, sometimes. I wasn't disturbed by the reluctance to go in the water.

The last bit of video where it looks like the dog is really struggling in the water and maybe drowning is DEEPLY disturbing to me, though. Nobody should force their dog to do something like that. Especially for something as trivial as a movie shot.



My pitbull is terrified of baths as well. I can't keep him in but my boyfriend manages to get him in the shower and he sits obediently. I fully understand the reluctance to water, but I think this was on a whole different level/scale of reluctance and fear. Bathing your dog is for their own good/health/etc. This was so the handler gets paid and the profit of the movie/entertainment purposes. Completely different.

P.S. I actually enjoyed reading the book a couple years ago, and was excited to hear they were making a movie. Now, not sure I'll go see it. First I want to hear about an investigation and consequences for whoever is responsible for the dog's treatment in the video.



On The Talk, they said that handler was only suspended. But the movies been finished now.
