Has anyone seen the scenes where both brothers were crying on the stand when they described the sexual abuse that they suffered from their Dad?

Even those that thought the boys were scum were actually bawling at the time.
It WAS extremely painful to hear such morbid details.

Does anyone believe the abuse "excuse??"

Watching them cocky on camera one minute (who can ever remember Erik's smirk when the camera was on his face?) to seeing them cry in distress recalling how their Dad abused them, etc....,well that is a tough watch when they testified.

But no matter what, I still see no logic for them blowing away their Mother, using the pathetic excuse they wanted to put her out of her misery.

If the abuse was true, and dearest mother stood by and failed to protect her children, yeah she deserved it and more.

I think that she was caught up in the whole dynamic. On the one hand she had a husband who clearly had the dominant personality - he wore the pants, he was the provider, he was the one in control and he used money to control his family. He may even have been abusive to her at times but she probably basked in his approval too and she had her own lifestyle expectations/spending habits to consider - you don't just give that up. On the other hand she had her two young adult sons who were getting into trouble and creating huge issues in their house. She was aggravated with them too and at 18 and 21 they had minds of their own and were completely out of her control.

I think that they had a difficult relationship with their parents. Their dad was a bully and their mom didn't stand up for Lyle and Eric. At the same time, Lyle and Eric were used to having and spending money - and lots of it.

Their dad had grown tired of his son's trouble making. Lyle and Eric were huge embarrassments and disappointments to their dad. Their mom sided with their dad.

We'll never know exactly what happened but I believe that Lyle and Eric were expecting to be kicked out and have their access to money cut off. That is why they plotted and carried out the execution of their parents.

It was the rejection by their parents combined with the threat of having their money supply cut off that led to the murders.

And the fact that their Father killed the black family dog, then stuck the head in the refrigerator for his kids to see.....Well sorry but that would traumatized me for life plus in all honesty that would motivate me to inflict harm on whoever inflicted harm on an innocent animal for malice.

And I think they were angry at their Mother for letting them both suffer so much just made them lose the ultimate respect for her which may have been a motive for her killing.

Still not a good enough reason in my book.

I wouldn't live in it! I can't imagine watching TV in the same room where two people got their heads blown off by their children! Yes, tear it down and build another - that is prime real estate in Beverly Hills.
