No they are not coming from a place of good. They are coming from entitled jerk land. This kind of crap never comes from a good place.

Alternatively, maybe the OP expected, as would a reasonable person, that when she told this man point blank that she's not romantically interested, he'd back off and they could be friends. She has given him time to get over his issue and adjust his behavior and he has not.

Not attention seeking. Not leading anyone on.

Not OP but that's not true. Sometimes you have too much empathy for others and put their comfort and welfare above your own. Especially difficult to sever this type of contact if you've been raised to be respectful of your elders. It comes from not valuing yourself enough.

OP clearly feels sorry for a sad, lonely man. Nothing here indicates that she enjoys this attention, quite the opposite.
