Delaware beaches are best. High prices but low taxes and close enough to come back to DC often.

I'm sorry, but retiring in a Maryland beach town full of retired mechanics from Glen Burnie and secretaries from Waldorf is not my idea of a good time. The weather isn't good, the beach isn't nice, and in the summer you get even more riff-raff from Ocean City.

We were looking tonight for homes in Mobile Alabama. No need to dis my post. It's a place we'd like.

Me, either. Bethany doesn't have bars, really, so it keeps the most obnoxious behavior away. You can go to Rehoboth, Dewey, or OC for that. Otherwise, it's very family oriented. Quaint little shops, nice people, easygoing lifestyle. Perhaps Lewes is similar?

I'd consider retiring in RI, which has lots of towns that happen to be near the beach. You're near the airport and hospital. And it's affordable.

I am thinking of the space coast of Florida. My plan is to move down there when my kid finishes college. I will continue to work for a few years (one of my customers is there).
