She was fabulous with us. We needed testing done for College Board accommodations (on a tight timeline) and she not only got us scheduled in short order, but she wrote up her report quickly so we could get paperwork submitted on time.

Price at GMU was $400 as well.

Well, we've used her and her results sounded very accurate. Some attention issues, but not a train smash - and that's exactly what I've got from each and every teacher Dc's had. You've got to keep in mind that parents who end up doing a WISC there do that for a reason - eg a lot of them have bright children who didn't do so great on the school test, so the parents are wondering why their kids don't perform to their potential.

She charges $400 for the WISC. She charges $2,200 for pychoeducational testing - this includes a WISC test, and your insurance may cover part of it, but not the WISC part.

Be aware. She will not do a WISC without finding some convincing reason your kid needs her to do a full workup. It's how she earns a living outside of AAP testing season.

Easy to say no to a time sales pitch. Very hard to say no to someone telling tou that you child could have developmental or learning problems, and that if you don't diagnose and treat them all sorts of terrible things could happen. Much better just to not put yourself in that situation to being with.

If you think she would give your child a fair assessment on an IQ test and that is what you want from the process, and you know she has a tendency to generously suggest issues, I think you go in with your eyes wide open if you elect to use her. FWIW, I did use her for one of my kids. She did think perhaps he may have had some attention issues but the score was very high. I asked the teacher at the next conference if she saw any issues and she said no. That was the end of it for me. I feel I got what I wanted out of the process. (I also have a few friends whose kids were tested with her and they weren't admitted because their scores were on the lower side of what AAP accepts. I say this because I do not think she inflates scores at all so don't pick her with the hope that you're child will definitely get a good score.)

We strongly suspected dyslexia and sought out testing to get a better understanding of it and an IEP. We also did WISC because we were applying to some schools that required it.
