For a party with less than 8 kids, yes this will work. Anything 8 and over, and there are too many kids in the store, too much waiting around.

Turning 7 is a great age for it.

Cake in the food court is fine so long as it is not mid day on Saturday.

My kids aren't into stuffed animals anymore. They would not enjoy this at this age.

Definitely not too old. I actually had my 12th bday party there with about 15 girls and it was awesome! (25 now)

I think the age is perfect. Build-a-Bear is the "big" sticker chart reward of choice for our 6.5 year old.

I think it can get expensive, so I agree with the poster who suggested you keep the party small if you choose the build-a-bear location.

My two kids love that place and were begging to go when they were 8 and 9 so I think its ideal.
