Like I said, I DON'T LIKE HER. I don't need a new reason. The cake thing is fine, but I wouldn't expect no one to bring or consume anything else for dessert. My poor MIL brought pies and was told to leave them in her car because SIL didn't want the attention off of her cake. So her little tradition isn't so "sweet".

I thought happy birthday Jesus was an ironic hipster thing? That's the only context I know of it. A birthday cake for Jesus send alongside a keg and Cupcake brand white wine. Often hosted by my jewish friends for our annual orphans Christmas Eve party.

Okay, you might not know he really existed, but over 3/4 of Americans, a significant portion of the world's population and over 2000 years of history and tradition say otherwise.

Heck, even Islam recognizes that Jesus really existed.

I'm not offended, but I think it is corny and dumb and I would never subject my guests to this sort of thing. That's why we never go to her house, which I clearly stated i, my original post.

Yes, I do enjoy laughing at my SILs stupid ideas. It her whole "I'm a good Christian this one day" thing that bothers me.

Yes, this is a thing and it is not new. My religious aunt had a cake and sang Happy Birthday to Jesus every Christmas when I was growing up.
