I don't have a picture but the actress Michelle Williams had a cute pixie for a while. Also Carrie Mulligan.

To those who have suggested longer, smoother style cuts (the Claire Underwood etc), those will likely be harder for OP to have without more extensive styling to get her wavy hair to look smooth.
How much do you style your current short hair OP? Do you use products? Air dry, blow dry?
I have had several styles of short hair/"pixie" cuts, and the best were those that worked with my hair's natural (wavy and thick) texture, OR those where if it didn't, I was committed to constantly styling in the morning. But the constant styling gets old, and tends to negate the reason for getting a short style in the first place. Just a thought.

Jennifer Lawrence has had some great cuts that I have used an inspiration for my fine, light brown hair. Worth looking through Pinterest. They are a little longer than pixies- more like an undercut.

NP: I like either Meg Ryan's or Drew Barrymore's. My hair is thin, fairly curly, though it also behaves with product, so I probably wouldn't need to blow it dry (and if I did, it would be quick). I need a change, too...

Previous poster: It sounds like you are a great candidate for a pixie cut since petite features are always flattered by them. You may find that your husband thinks differently when he sees you with one, as it frames your features even better than long hair. The great thing is, hair does grow back, and a pixie cut growing out has many options to re-shape as it grows.

NP here.
I'm thinking of gong for the Robin Wright Penn cut. I'm in my mid 40s and have fairly fine, blonde hair (with highlights), high cheek bones, a fairly strong jaw, but otherwise petite features. Except for being short and not as beautiful, I look a lot like Robin Wright Penn (also been told Jodie Foster). Once my hair is past my collarbone, it hangs limply and looks thinner with ratty ends. The only thing stopping me is DH. He hates short hair and wishes I had long, thick hair, but I dont. Wondering if I should just say f&*^k it and get it chopped at my appointment tomorrow.
