Kate campaigned for that marriage - for probably a good decade or more. She decided it was what she wanted, so good for her. She gave up a lot of it. (Including carbs. Eff that.)
The money would be nice, but other than that, I'd take my own marriage every time... because it works for ME.

Most of the women you named, with the possible exception of Kate Middleton, are extremely outgoing, good conversationalists, strong women who are fun and good in various social situations, able to steer a conversation and charm a variety of people.
That's really the clincher in deciding who will marry "well" and who won't.
The same goes for ugly guys who land beautiful women.

I think he's pretty freaking extraordinary! Especially reading about marriages on here. Just because someone is a 'Big Deal' doesn't mean they're an extraordinary partner.

Go do your own work and be successful and you'll attractive a likeminded successful professional like yourself. Michelle Obama was and is a successful professional women just like her husband.

What puts, say, Kate Middleton, Michelle Obama, Nancy Regan and possibly Meghan Markle apart from a woman who marries an average middle class white collar man.
Nothing...it's the man that are different, not the woman. Mostly just luck of the draw on the woman's part.

Not Op, but a good marriage will work wonders in a woman's life like very little else will.
If a woman does marry, unfortunately, her marriage tends to define her than not.
I just feel sad for our society.

I mean obviously a man who is more than "average." He is either extraordinarily successful in his field or world famous by holding a position such as a president.
