When did Brooks Brothers start carrying kids clothes?

7:03, the dress you posted is nice for a tween, but it does not resemble OP's dress st all.

My 11 yo dd is 5'4, and would not wear that. If I was picking out a random dress for an 11 yo, I would never pick that one! I love smocked dresses on younger girls.

But but but, if your daughter likes it, that's all that matters.

Reminds me of something Kiernan Shipka would wear. She always had very modest necklines but pretty fabrics.

+1. Like a PP, I thought the dress would be Disney princess-y. This dress is classy.

It's a beautiful dress and very appropriate for an 11 year old.

(The only thing that would give me pause is the price, but it's a gift so that mitigates that concern somewhat.)

The price is inappropriate for an 11 year old, but not the dress. The smocking isn't obvious in that color.

It's not appropriate and she will look silly at her age in it.

My DD is 13. I love smock dresses. Love them. Every single dress I bought for her was smocked. In fact, we had a few almost exactly like this one. That being said, the last time she wore a smocked dress was 3rd grade. Even in the south were smocked dresses are more of a thing, 3rd grade tends to be the limit. There is a reason that smocked dresses are often not made in sizes past 8.

I have an 11yo and I think it's beautiful and totally appropriate.
