There is no formal "we will watch this show together" thing. It's not unusual for us to watch TV together, happens all the time. How is this any different from anyone asking for suggestions of shows to watch? I've always gotten ideas for shows I never thought to watch or had never heard of from this forum, didn't see the harm in asking what would appeal to both me and my kid.

LOL We are SE DC residents, my kids are born and raised here. Maybe it's because my kids don't have a TV in their room? We do have a big TV in the basement but we usually use that when we rent movies. We've always watched TV together in the living room.

OP here. We started watching Stranger Things and he likes it a lot. Thanks for all these suggestions, once we are done with ST we have lots of good options to choose from.

I must admit, some of the suggestions were a bit of a head scratcher to me. Fuller House? Felicity? My son would hate these. lol

Man in the High Castle
Firefly
Fringe
Defiance (comfort TV; it isn't "good" so much as entertaining and not awkwardly sexual to watch with your son)
Suits

We're enjoying Occupied on Netflix, and for comic relief, The Office.
