We could go round and round forever on he topic of beards and on the topic of women's haircuts/color. Men like their beards because they are warm and look manly. Women like their "mom haircuts" because they are low maintenance. Women don't like beards because they're scratchy. Men don't like short hair because it's less feminine. Blah blah blah blah blah blah blah.

The bottom lines is we are all adults and can choose how we look and our partner should feel free to express, in a kind way, whether they prefer a look or not. Then you can choose whether your partner's opinion matters to you. If you disregard your partner's opinion out of spite or just to show that no one controls you, that's not cool. Nor is it cool to expect your partner to change their style just cause you don't like it. Talk about it like adults and be open to the other's feelings and preferences. The End.

DH has a lovely S&P beard. Have any of the PP ever been to Brooklyn? Everyone has beards now. It's weird not to have one IMHO.

Kissing a bearded man is not the same as kissing a man without a beard. Some women don't mind. Some do. I think my husband is insanely attractive with a beard but kissing beard face is not fun for me. He prefers to be kissed, so....

I have only kissed one bearded man and I was surprised by how soft it felt. I liked it. I would kiss another.

Why doesn't she like it? Does it actually look good on you? Is it a manhood competition? If her reasons don't bug you then keep it. If they bug you make a choice. Is she controlling?

My DH has a beard and I like it. However, I only like beards one way - full, but very well trimmed and short. No half-assed facial fuzz and nothing long that just looks like it smells. So I'm attracted to guys who have it one way and totally turned off by the other two. So I wouldn't mind you having a beard, but the long stuff? Nope.

Beards are sexy. Exhibit A: Eric Weddle, Baltimore Ravens. But that's just me.

As in the other thread, I'd voice my opinion tactfully if I did/didn't like it but wouldn't expect my spouse to change it for me if they loved it and it was comfortable.

That Danny Espinosa/Grizzly Adams beard is ugly as hell.

Beards are sexy! As long as it's kept up nicely. Washed, trimmed, and brushed. Also, I find a little salt and pepper sexy as well.

OP here. My beard is practical: it keeps my face warm. It really does. If I could grow ear muffs, I would. I envy my dog who has a warm coat.

Oh, and my dog loves the beard. My DD thinks it is awesome.

After about 2 weeks, my beard is also soft/not scratchy.

It is never smelly -- I shower every day and wash my beard like I wash my hair/face.

The dyed hair doesn't hurt you or bother you but, a beard does irritate my skin. That is the difference. Unless you don't want to be kissed?

Also, as a woman why would I want a beard unless I was in a side show?

I like the way a beard looks but they chafe my face.
