I can deal with these type of threads where the OP fully discloses they're bragging AND they've worked hard for it. It's the 'woe is me, I only have 1 million and I'm concerned I haven't saved enough compared to my 30 year old peers' threads I can't stand.

I agree, congratulations to you guys. My wife and I are in the same boat including just paying off our mortgage. No one including my family have any idea. It's just something you bring up to people.

Now the business has grown and our HHI is $800-900k per year. We're lucky to have gotten this far -- it was a lot of hard work to get here.

You wouldn't know it from looking at us (except our house). I think half my clothes are from Old Navy and the kids too.

Not this crap again...

I'm 60, single, have a $7 million trust, no debt and no wife to support, life is OK. Yeah I'm bragging too. But I worked until I was 55 and still had enough to retire before I received the trust.

OP said her networth is 1m, her assets are more than her debts, seems pretty awesome to me.

So assets > 1 million are no big deal?

I wasted the first 10 years not saving (no green card-couldn't invest or buy anything) and never found a partner who would like to save too.

I saved tons of money with no green card. You can have bank and brokerage accounts.

Dialed back on our jobs after we paid off loans, paid down mortgage enough to refinance into a 15-year, bought two new cars (intending to keep them 10 years), and kids were out of day care. Totally worth it although I miss the bonuses. Still able to save for retirement and college.
