Just get regular carrots! They're more nutritious.

Baby-cut carrots ARE regular carrots, and are actually an awesome invention. They were created by a guy to use the carrots that aren't "pretty" enough to sell in supermarkets, and they reduce food waste.

They are regularly carrots shaved down, yes. But they are also put in bleach water to prevent mold.

Don't buy bagged. NEVER buy baby.

Buy the loose carrots with tops still on. Look at them to make sure they aren't dry and woody.

Lol!
I wish threads older than 1 yr would automatically lock. There's been a bunch of old threads brought back to life lately.

The price of convenience.

A bag of baby carrots is .39 at Lidl. I'm happy to pay that as tradeoff for the mess and time of peeling your suggestion of whole carrots, rinsing, chopping, wash cutting board, and also more expensive than said bag of baby carrots at Lidl.

I do enough cutting and chopping of other veggies.

Regular carrots from Wf with the tops on. I like the purple ones. More flavor.

Anonymous wrote:Said my 8-year-old the other day. It came from a bag of organic carrots I ha gotten from either Trader Joe's or some other store, can't remember. I tasted it and she was right. It had no flavor, no sweetness. Any suggestions for where I can buy carrots that taste like carrots?

Currently, I’m eating baby carrots from Trader Joe’s that I got yesterday, has no taste no flavors. In fact, it is yucky. I ate about 6-7 if I will ever get the good one but no. Horrible taste 😑

Because a lot of carrots aren't the perfect "carrot" shape. They are gnarled and misshapen, and people won't buy them. So, rather than waste them, you can cut them into baby carrots. The reason they are tasteless is the same reason that regular carrots are tasteless and farmer's market carrots are delicious.

Your eyes are going to freeze like that. PPs are right--the "baby" carrots are disgusting. They're watery and taste weird with a gross texture, and are just regular carrots that had all the goodness and flavor soaked and processed out of them before they were carved into baby shapes.

they're not even carved, they're tumbled like rocks until the sharp edges are worn off. It's gross.

It's also not what OP had, so you're all/both weirdly off topic.

The soil is depleted, OP. I have preferred my produce from WF, MOMs, or even Safeway.

Lots of regulation. Have always used pesticides. Just only certain ones.
