OP, I had the same insomnia and my husband did not do any feeds even when he wasn't traveling. At some point I learned to nap with the baby which helped a lot. Not sure what made me be able to nap. It may just have been the exhaustion.

In Germany women get 1 year of maternity leave and they can go back to their jobs. In France it's standard for new mom's to get help at least once a week. Only in a America do people do people brag about their misery and wear it with pride. People in other first world countries prefer to be civilized.

True. However, these women still face issues and are often very mommy tracked because of the long amount of time they are out of the workforce on leave. Many women in these countries work part time. There's no utopia.

I would kill for 4-5 hours of sleep. I have a 2.5 year old and 6 week old premie. I am getting about 3-4 hours of broken sleep a night. I'm breaking. Oh and I have 18 weeks maternity leave but can tell that I'm expected to start working from home asap. DH co plains about being tired because he wakes in the guest room when he hears me doing feelings. I could kill him! He offered to wake up and help but there's really nothing for him to do since I'm breastfeeding. Ugh

Of course he just says "well now you know how I feel when you wake me up". No dude, me waking you up when you're sleeping in until noon on the weekends is totally not the same.
Why is he out of town? Is he off partying with the guys or is he working to put food on your table?
There are other things that require sacrifice besides taking care of a newborn. Stop being such a drama queen.

Try melatonin, it helps you fall asleep quickly but doesn't keep you in a deep sleep so you will still hear the bavy

You can't blame your husband on your insomnia and being awake for nightly feedings. It sucks, yes, but you can't put that on him.
As for calling at midnight - well, he's probably exhausted too and was probably hoping to vent to you about how tired he is (a different type of tired, but still "tired"). Plus, I'm sure he wanted to reach out to you too. He probably fiugured you were awake since you are (always) complaining about not sleeping often. Give him the benefit of the doubt...he was trying to be nice and well intentions.
Keep your post partum emotions in check. It's tough. All of us moms with newborns (+subsequent kids) have BTDT and feel like DHs never seem to step up or purposely do things that are inconsiderate, etc.

This doesn't get at the big picture issue but you could try putting do not disturb on your phone at night if. I started that during maternity leave when MIL liked to text/face time at 4am.

I think some of the neckbeards from reddit stuck around to troll since the responses are all generally the same (I bet you don't have a job, shut up and be grateful, you sound like a b*tch, etc).
DCUM can be a rough place but the snark is usually of a higher caliber than the "make me a sammich" level of discourse these trolls are bringing.
NP here - interesting! I think that was the thread where the woman running for school board, like, made an account with her actual email address to post (rookie mistake lol) and then blamed it on her intern and Jeff came in and was all "no you just did this today, I looked up your account creation date." Interesting that made it to Reddit and would explain some of the posts I've been seeing where the tone just doesn't match with what I'm used to seeing on here.
