DH here - they are avoiding creeps like you.
And seriously, if you truly want to meet someone, try on-line dating and make the effort to write a good profile.

You could buy or rent - a 2BDRM rental is $2,000/mo, which is a little less than 40% of your pay but living there might mean you wouldn't need a car.

You've never been to McLean, have you? If you are a certain age, you know for a fact there are tons of divorced men and women in McLean. Why would this bother you at all? Does it have to do with you?
OP asked about single moms, not just divorced moms. If you are a certain age, you might know that somewhere between 40-50% of single moms have never been married. I'm not sure what your issue is with McLean, but realistically given how expensive it is to live there it is going to have more high and dual-income families than most places, both of which are correlated with low divorce rates.
Clearly you are the one with the McLean issue: GASP! Divorced moms don't live here! Are you effing serious? You need to get out more and stop trying to patrol other people. It's clearly not working for you.
There are divorced moms everywhere, but explain to OP how she's going to get by on $70K with two kids in McLean, where most families make substantially more, and everything costs extra to begin with. I think you need therapy (or to find some divorced gal pals elsewhere to hang out with).
Or your husband. Clearly why the McLean moms are trying, unsuccessfully, to keep the single moms at bay. LOL.

Wow, this isn't slanted at all. :sarcasm: Not all divorcees live in those places that are less desirable. Nice try.
So where do you think a single mom making $70K with two kids can get by easily in NoVa? The price of just about all services is higher in more expensive communities.
