DH is in charge of shopping for her. I stay out of it.

Either DH picks out something he knows she wants (fitbit, slippers, tickets to a performance), or if he's at a loss, I go to A Thousand Villages and try to find a decorative item I think she'll appreciate, such as a pretty wicker basket for her needle point supplies, nice picture frames (which we fill with pics of our kids), scarf, etc.

My most thoughtful Christmas presents tend to come from my in-laws, so I try hard on their gifts.

Pajamas. Cardigan, flouncy type sweater. Scarf.

Mil is a large lady and self conscious so I avoid buying her much beyond lounge wear. Married for 15 years and if I didn't buy anything for her, I'm not sure what she'd get from DH. DH buys for his FIL, but it's always something boring and utilitarian and purchased 12/24.

We are local and do a gift exchange so I don't have the option of NOT buying.

+2. I'm due with our first right before Christmas and I'm completely relying on DH to get presents for his family this year. He has in years past as well but we typically pick them out together and I usually do a lot of reminding to get him to get gift buying done. I just can't be bothered reminding him about it anymore, I've mentioned it a couple times and he hasn't gotten anything done so he'll either do it or he won't.

She also likes fancy gardening tools and we'll get her a hori hori knife. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ZNYX0VE/ref=ox_sc_act_title_4?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A2ATV4FQQ7C73F

I'm oddly superstitious. In order not to have sharp words with the recipient of intended gift, you must include a coin in the package. Otherwise, cue Brady Bunch tiki music.

I had my son paint a piece of pottery for one and the other I had a platter made with all the grandkids names on it. Each less than $30.

A photo calendar of the grandkids, a personalized Coke bottle (she loves that) and whatever DH comes up with.

I got mine one of those $40 cashmere sweaters from Macy's. They're $49 now.

I'd like to spend well under $100 but would be willing to spend up to that much if it's a great gift.

DoTerra. Just so I can get free frankincense oil this month.

Exactly! This is what I'm doing this year. I am tired of stressing out over gifts...think I'll give my DH an assignment to buy for his side of the family and I'll take care of mine.
