Beauty is in the eye of the beholder ... Just looking at the postings it seems like more people prefer the way the bakery does it now than the way you wish they did it. So I agree with the PP that you should make a special request. If you are a regular, certainly it seems like they could put one aside for you every day sans sugar or icing. If you are not a regular then maybe you can just scrape it off?

I'd say something, just because I imagine they would appreciate feedback, but I wouldn't expect them to change it.
Both the things you describe sound gross to me and I wouldn't buy either of them - maybe change bakeries?! Obviously neither of those are healthy foods in the first place but yuck - the sugared muffins must have 50g of sugar in them

Ask them if they have any muffins without the sugar on top (they might have some in the kitchen they haven't sugared yet). Same with the croissants. Your request might be a common one, for all you know. From there, you can ask them if they ever sell them without the sugar, and that you'd prefer them that way.

I also love the sugar on top. It's my favorite part and I am far less likely to buy muffins without it.
