I miss the programs "Property Virgins" & " My First Place."

It was fun watching newbie potential homebuyers in the process of purchasing their first home!

You realize that House Hunters is staged, right?

Sheesh, PP. Why don't you tell her that Santa isn't real while you're at it.

+1

This is the part that gets me.

"Our total budget is $200k."

"You're in luck! This victorian mansion is on the market for $50k, and we'll use the rest for renovations!"

I know places where you couldn't buy a parking spot for $50k.

lol remember when they bought a house for $10k? Crazy

To me, it is this kind of broadcasting that makes people feel that they are missing out.

Yes. For some reason I love watching House Hunters, and then the homebuyers talk about how various rooms "need updating," and I think, "No, you'd LIKE to update it. But it's perfectly functional as is. How much have you got saved for retirement?"

I loved that show!

It's all fun and games until Hildi glues hay to your walls, or puts sand all over your bedroom.

THIS for gods sake. Then when the parents say 'it doesn't seem kid-friendly... I think our toddlers might try to eat the hay' Hildi replies blankly 'then teach them NOT to'.... Speaking of out of touch- you nailed it. That was Hildi. Fake liking your neighbours and crap they did to your home was not believable. At least when the newer shows show termite infestations, dry rot and root intrusions and the contingency money goes out the window, you know you've entered reality.
