I was told my baby would be huge and he was 6 lbs 4 Oz ...

I think measured a little closer to 40% and he was born at 39+2 at 7 lbs 2oz. He jumped up to 90% after a few months where he has stayed. My husband and I are not small people and were neither small babies so I thought for sure the 36 week scan measurements were off, but they were spot on for us.

My two kids were 6lbs 13oz and 6lbs 14oz, both born on their due dates. I definitely needed newborn sizes, but they both outgrew them super fast, so if you can get hand-me-downs outside a cute home from the hospital outfit that makes the most sense. I think they both were out of newborn within 2-3 weeks but absolutely swimming in anything larger at first.

Despite their identical weights, the older one is usually 85-90th percentile in height and and the younger one sticking to 35th. They are 7 and 9 now.

You shouldn’t take these measurements too seriously. Sometimes they are really off. That being said my 40th percentile baby weighed 7 on 2 oz.

Another poster whose late ultrasound was significantly off. Had an ultrasound at 37 weeks and they told me baby was weighing in around 6.5lbs. That surprised me since my belly was HUGE and my first was 9.5lbs at 41 weeks. Ended up having the baby 1 week later at 38 weeks on the dot and he was 8lbs 10oz. I went out and bought newborn diapers that I never ended up using and just donated.

My oldest was 8lb 11oz at 39+1 and my youngest was 7 lbs even at 39+1. He was about 36% for weight. If I reverse correctly, he was measuring around 50th percentile at the last scan but the on call OB felt my bump while being induced and was spot on at 7 pounds. He was about 50th for length.

The scans are really hit or miss. I don't remember the percentile I was told but I was told I would have around a 7lb baby at 40 weeks, delivered at 40+1 and baby was 8lb 15oz. Especially unexpected because everyone in my family and my husband's family has had babies under 6lbs.

Those things can be so off! At 39 weeks they told me like 7lb 10oz and my son was born 6lb 4oz. And my friends child was measuring like<5th percentile, and was also born perfectly healthy 6lbs.

My "20th percentile" baby at 36 weeks came out 8lbs 6oz at 39 weeks.
