Np here, I have zero problems with adults who use profanity, and I hate when adults describe other adults as having "potty mouths". But hearing children speak that way, or close to it, just sounds wrong.

While not the classiest word, I certainly don't care of it is used around me.

DD is allowed to say that and I don't personally care if she says it in front of me. But I've taught her it's a word bordering on a curse word and to not say it to or in front of teachers or other parents.

I don't allow my kids to say it and if kids under 12 are in my car and they say it I let them know we don't say it. We say STINKS instead. E.g., that stinks. You stink. Instead of sucks.

It's Just like kids saying SHUT UP or OH GOD. I tell my kids it's not polite for children to talk that way. Just sounds vulgar and low class to me. Others may think differently. I don't say those words around my kids because I don't want them to think it's ok.

Its one of those words that depends on the context, a 10 yo saying " This sucks" talking about too much homework or a rained out baseball game is fine. Telling me that " dinner sucks" after I have made it or that his little brother " sucks" is not ok.
Same as saying stupid....saying that Moco having 2 days off, then a day of school , then 2 half days, is stupid would be fine with me.....Calling a person stupid, not ok.

+1. Around adults, my kids substitute ticked off, which I don't particularly mind.
