Add Hillary Clinton, and she just about rounds out the list of women I don't see as positive role models for my girls.
Good thing kids will ultimately choose their own role models, then. Besides, those are just shoes. One can acknowledge the trendsetters and emulate only their fashion without needing to select them as a role model. The thread topic was, after all, only about fashion, not character or other weighty life choices.

Oh please. The shoes are very popular right now and very comfortable. You buy the shoes to wear and not to emulate anyone. Get over yourself.

My DD goes to an all girls school so I'm not sure it's symbolic of what all teens are wearing but she likes tall FRYE boots. They are extremely comfortable once they break in and she wears them all winter. She has the basic model in black and brown. I've observed many of her classmates wearing the same boots but I'm not sure if they are popular outside of that. She is in 11th grade.
