I'm 5'8" and I spent about 20 years wishing I was 5'6" instead. 5'8" is kind of an awkward height because you're too tall for regular clothes and too short for tall clothes so things never quite fit without alterations. It took the boys at school forever to catch up to me in height and then I moved here where the guys aren't that tall either. You have to watch your weight because if you get too big, you start resembling Dorothy from the Golden Girls, which isn't exactly sexy.
Then at one point, women started wearing high heels with their jeans - I credit Sex and the City - and manufacturers started making jeans and pants in more lengths. All of a sudden, my pants weren't borderline high-water anymore. Game changer.
At 44, I've apparently started shrinking! According to my doctor, I'm now 5'7 and 3/4. I'm cool with it.
