I also cycled out of state and had to have my OB do the ultrasound at 6.5 weeks. It took some convincing to get them to do it. I showed them paperwork and told them I was taking hormones, and my dosage depended on whether or not there was a viable pregnancy.
I wish you the best of luck with your next cycle, and hope that it's easier for you to get your ultrasound. Cycling out of state/country is unfortunately unique to some providers.
