What NAACP should be protesting is the millions spent on teaching English to children of illegal aliens via PG tax payers dime. Even going as far as to creating a "special" school for them.
If their parents work and live here, they pay taxes too.

First off, if the children are here, then they are here and need to be educated. If you mean, the NAACP should protest to keep foreigners out of the US entirely, then fine, say that. But if kids are here in the country, we do need to educate them.
As for "spending millions" teaching English to them -- hardly. Yes, schools with children who don't speak English will need extra teachers in the form of ESOL teachers. But even if you completely cancelled the ESOL program and went with the "sink or swim" model... many of these children would still need remedial help with reading and writing, and probably math, so the school would just need to hire more remedial reading teachers.
The "special school" to help newcomer ESOL students was a great idea. Most high schools didn't have a lot of these students, so pooling them all together in one location helps them get the education they need, and removes the burden of instruction newcomer older children from high schools that really couldn't handle it.

He has lived in PG since he was a child. He was educated here, worked here and raised his family here so he knows the county and is invested. He was humble and spoke openly about the challenges that we are facing. He also said that he has no intention of stepping down.
I was on the fence about the him but after meeting him and hearing him speak, I really believe that he will continue to move PGCPS in the right direction.

Agreed. They are still a lot of employees that are not good for PGCPS that still need to be weeded out. This will not happen overnight.
