Or perhaps the fact that DCI is a self-selecting feeder school and BASIS is an open lottery school could be at play...

Every DCI feeder is now a Tier 1 school (yes, even DC Bilingual and Stokes).

Then the bar for tier 1 status is very low.

And Sela!!! So proud of the new Hebrew-immersion public charter school!!! And not a parent -- it's too far from me, but I visited & was impressed with the beautifully painted facilities, the doctorate & welcoming school director, and all the teachers. I wish it was closer to me because I would definitely put my kids there!

Too early to celebrate whenever not calibrating PARCC scores. I'm curious why they didn't get a NA ranking.

Too soon, Sherlock.

I'm curious why you'd want to slam them for something beyond their control (such as being too young and not having the history - but that's probably not a problem you and your wrinkles imagined.)

OTOH, you might just be an anti-Semite and there's nothing that would satisfy you.

(not a Sela parent btw, I just don't like anti-Semites)

That's true. The "Chinese" the Deal students speak sounds like a flock of geese. And they can't get an IB Diploma.

Schools with students too young for PARCC are measured on different things. Read page 2 of the Sela report. http://www.dcpcsb.org/sites/default/files/Sela%20PCS_EC_PK-2_2016.pdf

Then why isn't Bridges ranked? They have a 64% score but no ranking.

You'd have to ask the DCPCSB - but you can read the Bridges 2016 report - which looks like it would be in Tier 1 territory http://www.dcpcsb.org/sites/default/files/report/2016-10-11%20PMF%20Score%20Card%20SY15-16_Bridges%20PCS_EC_PK3-8_2016.pdf

+1000 Really, 12:14?? Deal is a terrific school and a great option for many, many families., Hardy is also becoming a terrific school. And now having three great charter middle schools is only a win for DC families. They are all different and can meet different needs. Why do they have to be in competition? Pit public schools against private and I'm right there with you (ha, see what we're getting for free??) but not public against public. More great public schools is just better for everyone.

Each inbounds kid that leaves Deal costs Deal $, right?

Nope - they're over-enrolled and still take a few OOB.

Would think that Deal families who complain about crowding should be pleased if Latin, BASIS, and DCI are taking some in-bounds kids.

Ask the 12:14 DCI booster / employee who posted "SO glad we're not going into Deal!! "
