Yes. We have 4 cars and one EZPass. Go online and register all 4 cars. That way, if it can't read the transponder it will take a photo of your plate, but then they'll see it's registered to your account and just deduct the fee like usual.

Can you use it on multiple cars? Sure. As long as it's working properly, you're not going to get caught (and that's assuming you're using it in a car not listed on the account...in VA, at least, you can freely move it between cars as long as they're both listed).

The problem arises on the rare occasion when your transponder *doesn't* work properly and the car isn't registered. Then you'll likely get a toll violation notice including a decent fine. In my experience, EZPass isn't really helpful in that situation...they won't waive the violation for a non-registered vehicle. In the instances where I had a problem with my transponder in a car that was registered, though, they didn't even send me a notice. They just billed my account for the toll and moved on.

I have my tag registered to my former car. I have been using it in my new car, and many other cars, for years with no issue.

I regularly switch my transponder between cars. Why not? The toll gets paid no matter what car it's in.

We share ours between our two cars. Mainly in one car. Both cars are listed on the account.

I live in VA. If I move my flex transponder to another car, I add the tag number to my account, then delete it a week or so later.

In WV you have to buy both the plan and the transmitters for each car if you want the EZ pass for each of them. You are not allowed to transfer a transmitter and they will fine you if they catch you. As far as driving a car with a transmitter that it is not registered, I don't know if they watch this close or not. I've never heard any one say anythig about trying it. I feel their policy is very unfair. It should be allowed to be used on any of our cars, we can not drive but one car at a time. So if the other vehicles are in the same classification, why should you have to pay for them? It is $37 total for one plan and one transmitter in WV. I have 3 vehicles so it woud cost me a total of $111 to get all of them on different plans. And this is a discount they are giving untill Dec. 31st. The present toll is going to double come Jan. 1, 20i9, and this discount will end. This is so unfair to the drivers in this state. Many West Virginians have to run the toll road all the way each day to and from work. Most blue collar jobs do not pay well in this state and people can hardly make ends meet and are going to be slapped with another cost twice as much as before.

In VA, you can use EZ pass on multiple cars. They prefer if you register all cars to the EZ pass however.

Maryland will issue E-ZPass to vehicle owners from out of state.

Does the Maryland E-Z Pass have the transponder with the HOV option for the Express Lanes.

We've had the same EZ pass for 10 years now, and have had it with 4 or so cars in that amount of time. No issues. We should remember the login information to update it hahaha.

I have an out of state relative who drives to and around Northern VA on a regular basis. He tried to get an E-Z pass transponder in order to use the Express Lanes but was told he could not because he lived out of state. That doesn't sound right because then only drivers with a car registered in VA could use the express lane???
