While he was ignoring you, you should have sat your bare ass on his pillow while ignoring him back.

I would've said nothing and grab the pillow from under his feet and switch out the pillows with his.

While I don’t think you’ve done anything wrong, he may have been hurt by what you said. Have you tried speaking to him about it? It may help. I hope things get better soon. Hugs to you!

Putting one's feet on someone else's pillow is gross and inconsiderate.
I would have said the same thing.

His reaction was extreme.
There is something else lurking below the surface here and it could be minimal like he had a bad day at work or it could be a bigger issue such as hidden growing resentment toward you that has reached his threshold.

Either way, you both need to discuss what happened so that it will not lead to more resentment.

The issue here is not really about the dirty feet on your pillow, it is more about why he reacted back in such an extreme manner to something that most people would just blow off.

My guess is that OP gives her DH the impression that she thinks physical contact with him is gross in a variety of other ways.

OP I have been in your shoes and did not say it so delicately, because that is gross and why an adult would put their feet on someone else's pillow is beyond me. Be polite!! Your husband's response was disproportionate - why I cannot say.

I routinely put DW's bare ass on my pillow to create better angles. Feet would not faze me.

But I'll bet you a dollar that your DW doesn't put YOUR bare ass on her pillow. Because she'd think that was gross.

You would win a dollar!

+1

Even if he didn't think it was gross his reaction was completely over the top.

Is he usually that sensitive?
