I think the better question is, if you were apple picking would you find yourself unable to walk over uneven grass, struggling to hold the basket and whiny? Because those were the standouts from the other post.

Apple picking is lame.

NO! it would totally suck. I have hated picking stuff when I was a kid when my parents thought it was a great family activity and I hate it now. Why pay to do pick stuff when I can buy it in the store already picked for me. Seriously... this is the type crap my parents would think up as family outings/vacations when I was a kid. I also hate visiting botanical gardens and civil war forts.

DH here - I would engage in most activities if it meant something for my wife. It's about engaging in something fully that has meaning for her.

as a PP said, If I were dating and really into a woman, this is the type of activity i would plan on a date to show her a different side of me.

Apple picking absolutely sucks. Worst fake ass cutesy thing to do ever. Bunch of scumbag price gouging fake apple farmers just taking you suckers for a ride.

PS - Apple picking season is also football season meaning that you're giving up either an entire college or pro ball day to Nancy around in a fake orchard with all the other dopes.

A friend of mine is Mexican and was horrified by this date idea. He couldn't decide if she was racist, tone deaf, or just seriously was into apple picking for some bizarre reason.

Are we role playing Adam & Eve in the orchard or when we get home?

Not my first "pick" but if I was single and was hot for the girl a definite yes. If I was a Dad with young kids I'd say "sure, it could be fun". As a married guy with older kids I'd say "ok, but could we do it after golf and before football?" Seriously, if it's something DW would like to do and the weather was good I'd do it. I'm always desperate to earn credits!

What, antiquing not an option?

Maybe elective gum scraping?
