20%

WOW - that is so much.

I tip a few bucks, usually $3-5 for a pedicure, $10 for hair, and $10 for massages. If it's amazing, I do more, but I feel like these people aren't making $2.10/hr like waiters do. And even then, I only tip 15% for food. People tipping so much is what gives people the idea they can ask for more. I think tipping is out of control.

With nails I don't get anything special so I just tip a few extra dollars.

Wax, hair, and massage I tip 20%, sometimes more for my hairstylist because she is truly a miracle worker.

same here. It's rare I go below 20%.

Also 20%, but I tend to round up or down depending on what cash I have. So if 20% would be $16, I'll likely do $16. But if it's $19, I'll likely do $20.

My haircut is $48, but that's after the discount he gives me off of $60. I tip $15.

20% but I never get massages and have no interest in them.

My mother is a hairdresser. Most people tip her 20-25%, and she is seeing 25% become more of the norm. It's also,however, not uncommon for regulars to tip $20 on a $45 service, like a PP mentioned they do.

So while your masseuse was being tacky, OP, and 20% is still normal, she also wasn't lying.

The key thing here is that I try to avoid using these services at all. Costs too much.
