Also don't forget that if one parent resides in the district, the student is eligible to attend school there, even if they primarily reside in a household in MD or VA.

So far, so good, everyone. I've parked on Otis all week and I haven't had any problems at all. I'll park on Quincy next week just to see if everything that previous happened was just a fluke.

They used to have a dress code policy (not a uniform) posted on those flashing billboards outside the school. I think they take a more reasonable approach to uniforms that some schools.

Lamb parent here-

We are a peaceful campus and have no issues with Perry St Prep. As far as I know (I don't work for the school) they have been good to us.

As far as the implication that there are LAMB residency cheaters- this is utterly false. I who have lived in the district for 20 years had my papers gone through with a fine toothed comb. I know many kids at LAMB and would not hesistate to report anyone who was cheating. I know this sentiment is felt by the staff as well. I am there early and leave late (daughter is clingy), and I have never seen a lamb kid dropped off by a car with Maryland plates unless it's a nanny or a company car (I asked and they confirmed with proof). So do not post lies on here.

I understand what people are saying about cars with MD plates dropping off kids at Perry St. There is a price sir to report this, and a witch hunt doesn't accomplish anything.

Neighbor here- I've been complaining about Perry St Prep on these boards for a while. At least 75% if not more of the students at Perry St Prep are dropped off in Maryland cars. I've tried reporting the situation to OSSE, but you need more information than a license plate. I might excuse some of them, but it's well over the majority. No, I do not believe that at all. I'd like to think that I'm not a Charter Conspiracy Theorist. That wouldn't be a good use of my time. Also, I can't imagine that is why people's tires are getting slashed. Sometimes kids have too much time on their hands and slashing tires falls under the "too much time on my hands" category.

As far as wishing these incidents on these people - I apologize if that's the impression I've given you all. I've lived on Randolph street all of my life (my parents bought the house when I was in 2nd grade and I inherited the house). It's just that I get annoyed with all of these cars coming in from Maryland. It would be nice if the school did some further investigation on where these kids really live.

I am a DC resident and taxpayer. No, I do not like MD residents stealing our PS/PK placements (because that is exactly what it is - theft of services). Nonetheless, I can't say I wish anyone's tires to be slashed.

Do you seriously believe that the neighborhood thugs and proto-criminals who have decided to make a game of vandalism are doing it strictly to MD vehicles, because they're trying to protect PS/PK spots for DC residents? Because that's a level of sophisticated thought that is inconsistent with petty vandals.

Maybe if they abided by the District's rules about the kids having to live in DC proper, there wouldn't be such a fuss about this...maybe? Does the school even investigate that? Living in a city like Washinngton DC has its ups and downs. Sadly, having nails found in your tires twice in the same week is a real downer. We have our cars being broken into during the day but I'll take that over homicides! If you keep getting nails in your tires, please report that to the police. Brookland resident here. Usually cars get broken into at night around here. Kids walk around checking door handles to see if cars are unlocked at all hours though. FWIW, I live on Otis, just bought a car two weeks ago and it now has a nail in one of the tires. Could be a coincidence.
